Hey Larry Hughes, Please Stop Taking So Many Bad Shots

Hey Larry Hughes, Please Stop Taking So Many Bad Shots header image 3

FAQS

Does Larry Hughes visit this site?
Judging from his shooting performance, I’d say no.

Do you have a profit motive for this site?
Yes I do! I have a 5-step money making plan:

Step 1: Create blog telling Larry Hughes to stop taking so many bad shots.

Step 2: Wait

Step 3: Larry Hughes reads site. He takes better shots. The team scores more points. The team plays up to it’s full potential.

Step 4: The Cavs become the first Cleveland team to win a Championship since 1964

Step 5: Weight of Cleveland’s losing tradition now lifted. I shut down this site. Then I parlay my Internet marketing skills to an online venture with actual revenue opportunity.

Do you hate Larry Hughes?
No! I just hate his shot selection. I hate his contract too. But I have nothing against Larry Hughes the person.

Why such a long url?
I wanted to go longer, but these exceeded the character limit for domains:
www.goddamnlarryhughesstoptakingsomanybadshotsWTFareyoudoing.com
www.fortheloveofthesweetbabyjesustelllarryhughestostoptakingbadshots.com
www.dannyferryWTFwereyouthinkingwhenyousignedLarrytothiscontract.com

There are rumors that Danny Ferry is actively shopping Larry Hughes for a trade. What if another GM finds this site? Could this Web site hurt trade possibilities?
Only Isiah Thomas is dumb enough to trade for Larry and not realize how bad of a shooter he is. The rest of the GMs aren’t that stupid. I’m just presenting statistics that are readily available to anyone with an Internet connection.

You can’t blame Larry for his contract, can you?
No, he was just looking out for his own interests, which is what any of us would have done in the same situation. But you can blame him for taking bad shots and playing like total shit. I’m not expecting him to play like a guy who makes $12 million a year, but right now he barely deserves the league minimum.

Shouldn’t some of the blame fall on Danny Ferry, Daniel Gilbert, Mike Brown, and Carlos Boozer?
Stop making excuses. Larry is shooting 33% this season.Yes, I’m pissed off at Ferry and his crew for overpaying old mediocre guys and signing them to long term contracts. But that’s what happens when you must rely on free agency.

OK genius, what’s the solution?
I don’t think he’s trade-able. So we’re stuck. Here are some possible solutions:
a) Larry plays like a guy who makes $12 million a year.
b) Larry restructures his contract to give the team more financial flexibility. We use the extra $11 million a year on a player who can shoot :)
c) Larry quits the team, voids his contract.

The owner is a billionaire. The GM a millionaire. The coach a millionaire. And every player on the team is a millionaire. Do you really think any of them give a shit at this point?
Sometimes I wonder…

    Nice site!

Fool that I am, I vowed that I would tattoo a tear on myself for every game in which - objectively - Larry Hughes played badly, not simply those in which his shot selection stunk like shit. Thus a poor shooting night could be offset by rebounds, great D, etc. For the love of God, my whole effing face is tattoo blue, not to mention my ears, neck, shoulders, chest, back, and legs. I kept my butt white and now I look like some bizarre kind of monkey. With Hughes on his current pace, certainly the backside will be next to go tattoo blue, AND THEN, only my “member” will be unadorned. The great fear, then, is that a tattoo tear will not lend itself to application when said member is flaccid. So to be true to my vows, will I actually have to get a hard-on for Larry Hughes. Say it ain’t so.

this is awesome….i thought i was the only one ready to commit basketball suicide over larry freaking hughes and his ridiculous play. how about adding this one…GROW A PAIR YOU FREAKING BABY!!!!!…. we knew his shot was suspect when he came here but that was ok because he could drive to the basket. he was a slasher!!! of course he is now quite obviously afraid of contact because everytime someone so much as stares hard at him he falls down and gets a boo boo. i would say trade him but who would want him at this point???

  • 4 dayan // Dec 31, 2007 at 11:15 am

Nice site! I’m lovin’ it. Thumbs up!

  • 5 Snake // Dec 31, 2007 at 11:15 am

And here I thought I was one of the only people out there who saw this problem as the crucial weakness of the team.
NOT only does LBJ not have a solid offensive helper in Hughes, he is often injured (questionable injuries I might add) and costs WAY too damn much money.
    12 MILLION dollars??!?!?! FOR WHAT!?

I knew Cleveland was in trouble on Draft night… while all the other teams were hastily slapping together mega-rosters, trading people from coast to coast, and buying out Steve Francis’s contract (WTF Blazers? Maybe Cavs should do this with Hughes), the Cav’s made… ! NO changes.
    Nothing.
    Not one trade.
    Front office needs to go.
    SNK OUT!

Basketball is apretty simple sport, when compared to baseball or football. You run, jump and put a ball in a hole. 3 things that Larry Hughes is unable to do. He is a cancer on this team with his attitude, too- guaranteed contract, guaranteed attitude.

  • 7 Bricksalot // Jan 1, 2008 at 11:26 am

think you should start a page called Larry’s Layup watch . to credit Larry for the time he actually takes the ball to the hole.

we know if he attempts to drive to the hole he has some body part that is begging to be injured

that might not be a bad thing

Good job bro… I got this website from Tom Withers and the AP game recap on Yahoo Sports… so I know the site is national now… I am so proud… I thought I was the only one who thought highly on lame a*s always injured aint worth a damn hughes lol…

Good game tonight, but you never know what you are going to get. Great site, but lets hope that he comes around and we can create clevelandcavaliers 2008nbachampions.com

  • 11 wateva // Jan 3, 2008 at 11:29 am

How can you say Hughes can’t shoot? He had a few awesome years with the wizards before joining the cavs.

For me its how Mike Brown is using him and he just doesn’t fit in with the cav’s playing style. I mean he’s scoring avg. dropped from 22 ppg (wizards) to now 9.7 ppg (cavs).

That stat has to say something.

Larry Hughes rides the pine on my fantasy hoops team.

Larry Hughes rides the pine on my fantasy hoops team.

Larry Hughes rides the pine on my fantasy hoops team.

How many more times can I say this? It’s quite possible that the entire west wing my local nursing home scores more than Larry Hughes. And I bet that they take better shots, too.

If only Larry Hughes could star in the remake of Back to the Future and steal that time machine that Michael J. Fox used, and take it back to 2003, the world would be a much better place.

  • 13 Al // Jan 3, 2008 at 11:30 am

Fantastic …. We should have had a site like this when we suffered with Vince Carter , but as a Raptor fan.. I hope Larry continues to “SHINE” I must say he is fun to watch when you are not a CAV fan…My luck he ends up in Toronto

  • 14 Mike Latona // Jan 3, 2008 at 11:31 am

Hey i love this site. I agree he takes so many terrible shots. I mean I would love to trade him but we aint going to get much for him. We need a true point guard. We all know that is our main need. I kept hearing how hughes finger hurt last yaer and now it is heeled and he still sucks. His defense isnt very good. I am starting to get upset with big Z personally we need him to step up for us to contend with boston and detroit

  • 15 David // Jan 3, 2008 at 11:32 am

This site is awesome. It almost puts my Rafer Alston sucks diatribes to shame!

  • 16 Joe // Jan 4, 2008 at 11:33 am

haha, great site! Makes me feel better about my wolves :(

  • 17 coolc // Jan 5, 2008 at 11:34 am

Love the url, it is spot on. It’s like Hughes forgot how to play when he got to Cleveland.

  • 18 Tom // Jan 6, 2008 at 8:52 am

I love the site, but you’re narrowing the appeal by perpetuating all the cuss words.

You got this far by being so creative. Don’t blow it by turning the space into a high school beer party.

  • 19 Doug // Jan 8, 2008 at 8:08 pm

Man i love this site….A part of me hope Hughes continues this horrible shooting (i fear hope, in either direction, will not affect hughes’ pathetic shooting anyway) just so this site stays alive….keep up the good work!!

  • 20 weezy // Jan 11, 2008 at 8:29 am

One of the GOAT basketball sites on the web.

  • 21 Delaware Mike // Jan 13, 2008 at 6:55 am

Great use of humor and facts. I live in Sixerland so I feel your pain. The biggest cost for you guys may be the loss of LeBron if Larry others on the team don’t start producing. Iverson’s time as it’s hard to build around a poit guard sized guy who took too many shots but you guys have the gem of gems in aguy that good and loves to share the spotlight and have his teammates share in the glory… Ferry and company better start getting it right!

  • 22 Delaware Rick // Jan 14, 2008 at 8:32 am

I would say that you could dump Larry Hughes and his 33% shooting back on his first team, my beloved Sixers . . . but thank goodness for me, Billy King was run out of town or he might have ended up trading Andre Igoudala and a couple of draft picks to you guys for the right to have Hughes laying bricks every night.

Hey Cavs fans - you do realize that LBJ is opting out at the end of his current deal . . . right? No superstar can have their team this poorly managed and stay around to watch the train wreck year after year (see Garnett, Kevin).

  • 23 JD // Jan 16, 2008 at 7:31 am

HA! i love this site. WHY doesn’t he get it?!?!

Just pass the ball! resist the urge to shoot.

  • 24 Kobe // Jan 19, 2008 at 2:22 pm

LBJ aint king untill he gets a ring.

  • 25 Action // Jan 20, 2008 at 8:53 pm

Kobe aint sh!t till he get a ring without his big daddy Shaq. Don’t be ignorant.

  • 26 Ron // Jan 21, 2008 at 6:15 am

    haha love the site!

and btw good ole larry is at an improved 35% in january. If he keeps improving at this rate *maybe* he’ll be shooting 40% in the playoffs!

  • 27 Dan // Jan 22, 2008 at 6:13 pm

Love the site. A friend of mine showed it to me and i must say I laugh my A$$ off everytime I read it. I think you should put up some predictions for next game though .. because i find myself wanting more between games and on off nights… GO CAVS!!!! Larry Hughes is horrible!!!

  • 28 Gary // Jan 23, 2008 at 4:50 pm

Love the website dude. Gotta say im a diehard pistons fan being from Michigan, but this is some funny stuff right here. Read about it on espn.com and checked it out, now i check it everyday to read the updates. Keep up the good work and good luck to your Lebrons (Cav’s)

  • 36 Craig // Feb 17, 2008 at 12:02 pm

when 10 of the 15 teams in your conference are below .500 and lebron james is on your team, you better make the playoffs…

danny ferry is the worst GM of all-time. think we can trade GM.s? we.ll throw in a half full bottle of gatorade and some $1.99 DVDs from best buy, i want the globetrotter.s GM, Gary Coleman’s agent will do fine.. somehow that guy still gets work… he get.s the job done.. SO WHY CAN.T DANNY FERRY!@!@?!@?!?@? AHHHHHHH!@!@!@!@!

  • 37 Craig // Feb 20, 2008 at 6:01 pm

i can.t wait for danny ferry to lose lebron… nets are freeing up room for lebron to join jay-z and the nets… i am already beginning to laugh…. hi-5 danny ferry you are the best!

  • 38 bob // Feb 21, 2008 at 4:21 pm

So now that Larry is gone, will you be following his shot selection in Chi town?

  • 39 Chitownkid // Feb 21, 2008 at 5:54 pm

Ya know you could have sent a link for this site to Paxson before the deal was done. I really thought only Isiah was dumb enough….. hopefully he gets hurt again and collects all 12 mill on the bench

    Baffled in chicago

  • 40 gespaco // Feb 22, 2008 at 11:12 am

I’m also wondering if you’ll still be following Laura…I mean Larry. I found this site just a couple months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it. If only Detroit would have used my strategy last year…the “Leave Larry Hughes open…really, it’s ok” theory.

  • 41 John // Feb 22, 2008 at 7:09 pm

As a Wizards fan I can remember Hughes’ terrible jumpers, but I can’t remember how many he took. All I know is, 4 steals a game wasn’t worth it.

  • 42 Larry H. // Feb 23, 2008 at 6:11 am

Thank you all for your support! I am now going to play my mind out and beat Cleveland in the playoffs.

    p.s.
Thank you for the gift. It helped a lot

  • 43 Mike Brown // Feb 24, 2008 at 9:01 am

No you won’t! We have Ben Wallace now…

  • 44 James Dolan // Feb 25, 2008 at 8:03 pm

Outrageously funny site. I laughed ’til I nearly peed myself.

In return, here’s how you make money:
    You’re a proven winner. I’ll pay you to start a site: heyisiahpleasequitandrunawayandtakealltheseknickswithyou.com

Once you succeed, I’m sure every Knicks fan will send you a dollar . . . and you’ll be rich beyond your wildest dreams!

    Great job, dude.

  • 45 Rico // Apr 12, 2008 at 10:02 am

Man come on, you can’t blame LArry Hughes for everything. the bad shot selection was partially from Lebron JAmes holding the ball till the shot clock was at 5 and passed it to a team mate. thats one of the reasons the cavs as a TEAM shoot so bad. Larry hughes is still a great player and could have helped us if Lebron and the rest of the cavs could play atleast a little run and gun offense.

  • 46 Ghood // Apr 17, 2008 at 7:31 pm

please make this a website inspiring the bulls to pick up antione walker………….it would help ur team and shit on the other…………antione could destroy anyteam in the league and if u can convince them to sign him ur doing good for your team

  • 47 Ivan // May 21, 2008 at 11:30 am

I think it’s time for you to create a similar site for BIG BEN. As a Bulls fan I was happy to see this terrible defender and rebounder leave our team. In my opinion John Paxson has run his course as GM in Chicago. He cannot let go of his young players and therefore he will not be able to make the trade the Bulls need to move on and continue their success. …..But back to Ben Wallace. You said the CAVS traded for Wallace for his rebounding and defense but as you have seen he does not bring either to the table. PLEASE e-mail me when you create a site for Ben Wallace for his anti-defense/ant-rebounding skills, I have plenty more to say. He has been the one big free agent that Paxson has signed and it was a terrible contract……Thank you for Drew Gooden by the way. I love his blue collar style, I love his hustle. He may not have plenty of talent but his Heart makes up for the lack of talent.
