You GO Larry! We’re behind you! Cavs fans, me, even Jesus!
I’m still baffled at how you can play 28 minutes as our starting point guard and record ZERO assists, but if that’s the winning formula for beating bad teams, then I’m fine. This site has a long URL, but it doesn’t mention anything about you being a bad passer, so I’m going to just shut up about that.
And Mike Brown deserves some credit for another great coaching job. He played Larry a total of ZERO minutes in the 4th quarter. Perhaps we have a new nickname for Larry?

You started off so well but then you had to make those stupid comments about him not playing in the 4th! What about the other game against the Spurs when he was playing in the fourth?

That passing stat is amazing. It’s no suprise though, you can tell Larry is looking for his own shot first whenever he gets the ball. Luckily he knocked down a couple shots last night.
Larry utterly destroys what little ball movement the cavs have. My favorite part of Larry’s game is when he recieves the ball and just dribbles it aimlessly until passing with about 8 seconds left on the shot clock, or before jacking up a contested jumper. This is easily the strongest part of his skill set.

Hey brownsac, I don’t know if you have ever watched a cavs game in your life but I really don’t know what you are talking about with Larry Hughes dribbling the ball aimlessly until about 8 seconds because he usually dribbles the ball up and then passes it to Lebron and he dribbles the ball for how long.

I hope that everyone here at least recognizes that the only alternative for a true PG on the current roster is Eric Snow.
“… if my life were at stake and I had to pick any NBA player to miss a 20-footer that he was trying to make, or else I’d be killed, I’d pick Eric Snow and rejoice as he bricked a set shot off the side of the rim.” -Bill Simmons, ESPN Page 2

It isn’t JUST the fact that Larry had zero assists playing point guard. It isn’t that his shot selection is appalling, or the fact that Mike Brown takes him out in clutch situations. It’s tragic because he is being paid $12,000,000 for all of that, and there is nothing Danny Ferry can or will do about it. Also, I love that the defense of Larry is, well he isn’t the worst possible point guard on the team. I wonder why anyone who likes Larry would go to a website called “Hey Larry Hughes Please Stop Taking So Many Bad Shots.” Bill, Lebron is averaging 29.7 PPG so he can dribble the ball as much as he wants.

HOW ABOUT THAT AIR-BALL 3 POINT ATTEMPT!?!?!?!?! LEAD TO A WADE BREAKAWAY BASKET.
EVERYTIME LARRY TOUCHES THE BALL, I WISH THAT LEBRON TAKES IT FROM HIM.

I don’t think that that was Bizarro Larry showing up last night though. I think that that was the best game that real Larry has ever had in a Cavs uniform.

Shoot boobie Shoot, do you know what you are talking about? How many assists did boobie have? He had 2, wow watch out! Lebron never shoots airballs right? That’s great Lebron is averaging 29.7 ppg. All I got to say is, the cavs are winning so just be happy and stop picking on Larry because you act like he takes stupid shots! The shots he takes are good looks! You guys are just still mad that Ferry couldn’t land Redd.
11 Shoot Boobie Shoot! // Jan 22, 2008 at 12:46 pm
Boobie isn’t the starting point gaurd so I don’t think anyone expects him to be racking up the assists….except for you. I don’t care that Lebron shoots airballs because he is, again, averaging 29.7 PPG, which IS great. I am going to continue to pick on Larry because the team would be better if he did’t take so many awful shots…which is the point of the website. If you don’t think Larry takes bad shots then why are you spending so much time on http://www.heylarryhughespleasestoptakingsomanybadshots.com

Also, in case it wasn’t obvious…because I thought it was… I don’t want Boobie to pass, I want Boobie to Shoot!
13 Bill // Jan 22, 2008 at 1:01 pm
Because I really don’t understand this website because it makes no sense! Well I do recall when Boobie was the starting point guard and now he is not because obviously Coach Brown knows what he is doing and likes the line-up which is winning us some games right now and is the line-up that made us the Eastern Conference Champs last year, if you forgot! GO CAVS!!!!!!!!! You are like any other typical Cleveland fan, always have to find something to complain about when we have a good thing going.
14 Shoot Boobie Shoot! // Jan 22, 2008 at 1:15 pm
I totally agree, the typical Cleveland fan is not satisfied with 2nd place. I want a better point gaurd and a championship.
15 Tom // Jan 22, 2008 at 1:21 pm
Coach Brown knows what he is doing because he was smart enough not to play larry at all in the fourth quarter.
16 Craig // Jan 22, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Cavs are NOW 4 games above .500, still have a negative margin in PPG against all their opponents, are below .500 on the road, and in conference play.
THIS STUFF IS FUNNY! you must have a sense of humor to appreciate this website. clear and simple.
YAY CLEVELAND!

BILL!!!!!! I have one thing to say and one thing only. LARRY HUGHES SUCKS!! so get it through your fcking head!
19 Brownsac // Jan 22, 2008 at 1:57 pm
Bill,
What I was trying to get at with my comment was how it often takes Larry forever to make even a simple pass. I think his basketball i.q. is very low (not as low as Gooden’s), which is why the only decisions he can quickly make are ones involving him bricking a jumpshot. If he understood what was going on around him better, and how to get his teammates involved, he would actually get an assist every other game or so.
And Lebron can do whatever Lebron wants. He owns.

I see people use the Eric Snow card, but I can’t see how Snow isn’t every bit as good as Hughes. #1 most obvious is that Snow generally doesn’t shoot, so the fact that he can’t shoot isn’t really a big problem. Second, Snow’s career shooting percentage is way higher than Larry’s percentage this year, so the “Snow can’t shoot” card doesn’t even apply right now. Third, Snow proved in the Finals last year that he can still play tremendous defense for 15-20 minutes a game. He draws charges, gets steals in the paint, and keeps other guards from getting easy paint penetration. I haven’t seen Hughes do any of that this year. Snow can dribble the ball across mid-court as well as anyone, and Snow can stand behind the 3-pt line and receive bail-out passes from LeBron’s drive attempts better than Hughes too (Larry seems too busy trying to leak out into the corners for open 3 pointers).
As far as I can tell, the only reason Hughes gets the nod is because he *is* being paid 12 million a year. I bet if Hughes was a 3 million contract, Mike Brown would have no obligation to upper management to start him at all, he’d be a 10-min a game (at best) player, and we’d see way more Boobie, and probably more Eric Snow appearances too.
